Sure my dads straight, but I still have respect for everyone, it’s not hard
That is a mighty broad statement, but good for you, and hopefully the objects and personages of that “respect”.

The point of the meme I posted was not about respect. Rather, it was regarding the fact that there are two genders. Male and female.

There are certain immutable laws that govern the natural universe. Two biological males on a desert island could bugger each other "till the cows come home", yet no offspring would be the result.

Just for schitz n’ giggles…………

What type of respect do you have for a person you've just met, and with whom you've never had any interaction? Would it be more than just respect for he/she as a fellow human being?

What degree of respect would you accord a pedophile that rapes and strangles his victims?

What degree of respect do you give a street thug that runs up behind you and “cold cocks” you knocking you to the ground and stealing your possessions?

What degree of respect do you accord a man who abandons his wife and new born child, leaving them with no vehicle, money for food, diapers, formula or utilities?

What degree of respect do you give an elected politician that portrays himself as an elected servant of the people, and then gets caught embezzling public funds or makes an under the table deal to evict homeowners via “eminent domain” for a cut of the action when a new commercial development is approved.

A discussion of the different facets of the concept of respect could be as shallow as a thimble

or as deep as the ocean.

I'll be 70 yrs old this year. I started mowing yards when I was 10 because I wanted more than a $1.50 a week allowance. I've started businesses and gone bankrupt, been married to the same woman for 43 years and have 3 successful kids that are on their own.

Among other things, I've been a landlord providing affordable housing ( I rent under market) to as many as 150 tenants per month, most of whom are under-educated or under-employed, and have been doing that for over a quarter century. Consequently, my definition of respect may differ from yours.

A squash may come to maturity in six weeks, an oak tree in 100 years. I treat everyone, no matter what their creed, color or race with courtesy and deference. However, I do not automatically accord "respect" to someone with whom I've just met and have had no interaction. The Bible I read tells us not to judge, but it does not say that you can't be a fruit inspector. LOL

Perhaps you heard it said that "opinions are like noses, every one has one, but most of them smell". In this man's opinon, respect is earned. YMMV
