Hello all, I just wrapped up a successful elk hunt and now Im looking to next season. My rifle isn't quite perfect for me so I want to have a couple things done, I just don't know who to send it to. What I want to have done is listed below, if you all know of anyone that could do it all please let me know.

Work needed
1.) re inlet Alterra Arms stock to accept DBM bottom metal (currently setup as BDL)
2.) notch the feed ramp on my Origin action (its possible this will need to be done to accept the longer COALs of the DBM magazine)
3.) Cerakote action and barrel

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't care if it's local, Id prefer lower 48 though. Thank you

LRI is who I’d go with. They are reliable, and awesome to deal with as a customer. They also have the capacity to produce some relatively quick turn around times as far as the gunsmithing world goes. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Despite their top quality work their customer service notifies you upon receipt of your part(s) and every step along the way.

That’s the best part, and you can always call and talk with whoever is working on your gun. I have a rifle that a manufacturer has been working on and I get zero communication from them. Might be these reason it’s gotten shipped back twice and still not right.

BTW - If you're looking for a long action DM, I have a new Hawkins M5 DM that I am willing to sell for $160 shipped.

A quick note on the Hunter Mag:

Try before you buy. I have 2 friends that have the Hunter Mag. It's a tricky PITA to operate the trigger guard button + very expensive + clumsy getting the mags out.

If your rifle has a 308 bolt face, a slicker and less-expensive alternative is get a flush M5 like a PTG or Grayboe and a MDT 3-round d-mag.

Photo is a Hawkins M5 DM (not flush) with the MDT 3-round inserted (1 chamber + 3 in mag = 4). A bit smarter for less than half the price, FWIW.

Kampfeld Custom is another option, Karl is a highly reputable and amazing gunsmith. Very organized too his lead time was dead on for a project I had him do.
