Guns and Pawn Shops

A guy I know who used to run a gun store would buy a used gun for 70% of the book value and mark it a straight up 10% from that price.

He was very honest about this when you brought a gun in to him. He would show you the price in the book and tell you what he was giving you for it and put the tag on it right in front of you.

He was NOT willing to negotiate. He simply couldn't.

A lot of elderly women brough in their dead husband's guns to him because they knew he would give them a fair price. He moved a pile of used guns.

A few years after my dad and brother died I sold 10+ guns to a local gun shop. I gave the shop the guns for a couple of days, the broker at the shop gave me an itemized proposal a few days later and I agreed to it or not. The offer was inline with what I found online for some, higher for others and lower for some. What was said above about pricing is true.
