Grrr, so annoying - a tale of woe and peep recommendation.

Deer season came and went while I dealt with bow-troubles. Turkey season is about to do the same.

Having trouble with the old bow not fitting ... got a new one!

Using a bow-scale on the new one ... bow-scale handles bend at full draw, yanking it out of my hand. Not quite a dry-fire since it was still attached but the bow-scale damaged the brand-new bowstring. (Scale says it was rated to 100 but the handle posts both bent at a 76lb draw weight.)

Got a new bow string from 60x. Served in the peep, shot about 40 times. Didn't like the placement so I put it back in the Bowmaster, undid the serving and removed the peep ... and the strings on the inside are frayed, with one broken. I'm guessing it was the peep.

So now I'm stuck with no bow a few days before Thanksgiving and a friend has offered up turkeys on her ranch.

*grumble grumble*

Looking for peep recommendations while I try to dig up a new string. What does everyone like?
Thanks in advance!

What kind of peep?
Also this can be caused by serving to close to the peep above and below it.

my bow shop tied my peep in tight!! now i know better, but nothing has let go yet. next string, i'm tying it in myself.

i use a G5 peep, but honestly all of the previous ones have been just a regular black colored peep. feel for a sharp edge on your existing peep, maybe there is a burr?

Fletcher Tru Peep. They are aluminum coated in plastic. Great peeps and the only thing I buy. Make sure to inspect for burrs on the peep before installing. I also never serve closer than a 1/2 inch to the peep. If you clamp the peep to tight with the serving it is more likely to cut the string strands.

Next time shoot the string in BEFORE installing your peep.

After several shots check the bow specs and adjust as necessary to get them in spec, then shoot some more and adjust if necessary. When everything is set, then install the peep.

I have good results with clear shot peeps. Great customer service too. I have used RAD peeps with good results too.
