Eddie was the king of rock and roll guitar. He was such a pioneer for guitar tone and technique. He will always be one of the greatest guitars players ever. RIP

That guy lived full throttle, I think my hearing loss is equivalent from high power rifles and BLASTING Van Halen. RIP.

This +1000. Being second row with the speakers in front of me at the 1984 concert at Market Square Arena was most likely my first serious hearing loss event. Loss of hearing was well worth seeing and hearing them live several times. (Along with AC/DC....)

The guy COULD NOT READ SHEET MUSIC. Amazing. He pretty much introduced two handed tapping to hard rock.

RIP Eddie

100%. It’s very odd, yesterday I went for a walk and for whatever reason started up Van Halen on Spotify. Ended up listening to it for hours and hours. Had so many memories flooding back from jr and high school. We were VH fanatics and Eddie was the whole reason I played guitar. I hadn’t listened to that much Van Halen probably since high school.

then today I heard Eddie died. What a strange coincidence.

I’m a hell of a guitar picker that grew up in the 80s... very jelous of you all that saw the legend.

And for what it’s worth, I’m damn sure he could pack two quarters. RIP.
