No offense, but, unless my wife was having a baby, I couldn't imagine a situation in which I would pass up an opportunity to hunt a goat locally.

I'd convince my boss I was deathly ill and head for the hills. I think you should call them back.

well i just got back from new mexico and leave in two weeks my utah bison hunt, just too many things going on with already being gone elk hunting and leaving again for another 10 days Plus the season is already underway.. I've had a blessed year drawing a long shot elk tag and a long shot bison tag.. makes me curious why the good luck streak!

I do! the bison tag won out, I think I'll get a chance at the goat tag again hopefully

There was a great story on another forum about a teacher this year who got a call for a returned tag half way through the season. I wonder if he got the call after you? It was a weekday only unit and he managed to pull it off.

Congrats on your bison and other tags. I dont know what Id do in your situation based on CO’s bonus point system. Tough call for sure with no scouting or prep and a shortened hunt. Im surprised the tag was even reissued after the hunt started.
