Anyone out there use the 3D mapmerge feature on the Garmin Monterra?
This is the only feature that the Monterra has over the Montana model that makes it worth looking into.
Otherwise the reviews of the android operating system are for the most part negative.
I went into the Chicago Garmin store to try one out and their display did not have any satellite imagery downloaded so I could not try it first hand.
On my pc with the basecamp software and birdseye imagery with my Garmin Colorado I am able to pan around and find benches and get a real feel for the terrain much better than a flat topo map. So trying to figure out how to take it into the field with me and it looks like the Monterra is the only one with that feature.
