I’m thinking about picking up gen 4 G20 this week. I have dies, primers, powder, and ready to place an order on brass. Trying to decide on a bullet. Currently looking at the Montana bullet works 200gr WFN. Looking for experience with these or similar bullets, primarily if there are any feeding issues with them. Gun will be kept stock as long as it runs.

Thanks for any help

I've loaded 10ish thousand 10mm 200's and never had any feeding issues UNTIL the slide velocity gets faster than the mag can keep up with.

Feed it aa#9, longshot or bluedot.....in that order.

Those bullets are great, and should treat you right. The only thing I’ll say is if you’re going to reuse your brass (especially if many times), and these are going to be warm at all, an aftermarket barrel with a fully supported chamber might be worth a look.

ANy accuracy with these bullets? Got kinda excited, but I honestly think I can find my 180 XTPs at $27 per 100.

I've been shooting 6" groups at 50 yards when I do my part. I am running dawson precision sights. An optic would be more gooder.

Wrench is spot on with powder. I've used a lot of Longshot but eventually switched to #9 as the best for heavy 10mm.

I shoot lots of 180xtp (my main 10mm go to) and maybe 200 rounds of mbw 200's and other 200gr hard casts. Accuracy with the hard casts is not up to the jacketed standard out of factory glock rifling. Good enough for defense but if I wanted to hunt with hard casts 50+ yds using a rest I'd have a different rifled barrel.

Thanks for the info. Ended up buying the gun today and ordered the brass, bullets and picked up some #9 at y'all's recommendation. Gonna have a hang up in the primer department. I thought I had some large pistol primers but I must have shot through all of them.

I’m getting really good accuracy with MBW 200 gr using longshot. It shoots as good as I can aim and shoot. One big hole at 15-20 yards.
Make sure you order the right sized diameter with hardcast. Mine takes .402 instead of .401 in stock gen 3 barrel.
180 XTP works well also or 180 berrys/hsm plated.
Load the MBW for predator defense. Going right at 1200 fps, I use 1.24 COAL and no feed issues. That is the same length as Double Tap 200 WFNGC

I ordered the .401. I’ve never had to specify diameter before. How will I know if I need to go up in size? I’m guessing stability issues, keyholing?

Thanks for the info.

Be careful with longshot, it goes from no apparent pressure to scary very quickly. A seating depth change or a mild over throw can be exciting.

What primers are guys using I just got a Glock 20 and found some blue dot. Noticed the brass from my federal ammo is small primer

I’m going to use starling brass and it uses large primers. I ended up ordering some CCI 350’s(large pistol magnum) because it’s what I could find in stock. If your going to reload the brass you have you should be able to use any small pistol primer.

I started loading for a G40 last year. I typically load moderate (8.3gr Power Pistol) 180gr plated for practice during the year and carry proper factory 200gr bear loads during hunting season and its on my hip. I have 150gr projectiles but have never gotten into them.

Finally got out to shoot today and found max load earlier than I expected. 200gr MBW, CCI 350’s, and 12.5gr of #9 split brand new starline brass. Gonna go back and load them a little longer and see if I can work up a little more.

I ended up loading some more up and going back to the range. I still don’t see how I could have been that far over pressure. Hornady lists 13.2 as max. First trip I was loaded to ~1.24 coal, went to 1.245 on second trip.

I am still seeing split cases still starting at 12.5gr. Cases have a very slight bulge. The only things I can think of is the magnum primer being enough to cause over pressure or the chamber is out of spec. Thoughts?

200gr MBW WFN-GC
A#9
CCI 350(large magnum)
COAL 1.245

I'm getting ready to start reloading, 10mm is my 1st caliber, any other notes along these lines?

Aiming for safety 1st, and then I can work on load development for performance once I can consistently load without killing myself lol

I can say with the last few days of me figuring 10mm out…

Don’t use jacketed bullet data when loading lead. If using magnum primers, start 10% lower than listed data. If you are getting split cases on the first firing, things are too spicy.
