Foxtail in Clothes Question - Grrrr!

I suspect our South Dakota guys have an easy button for this, but it has me stumped. I had the good fortune to be invited on a lastminute pheasant hunt with some old friends this fall and did not have any chaps or brush pants to bring along with me to South Dakota. I wore my Kuiu Attack pants and got into what I was told was a bunch of Foxtail, which made part of one day miserable. The Foxtail stuck to my pants like I couldn't believe (because I never had exposure to the plant) and little burs on the end of the plant poked through my pants acting like sandpaper ever step I took. Well, bad on me for being ignorant, but I'd like to salvage the pants because I'm cheap and they're sentimental to me because I've had good success wearing them. I've tried duct tape on the inside of the pants to pull the little stickers through with little success. I can't imaging putting on reading glasses and trying to pull each one out with tweezers, but that may be the answer. Any suggestions from our mid-West upland hunters on how to resolve this issue? Thanks!

Doesn’t sound like foxtail more like sand burs or something. If you hunted dogs in it lucky none are dead. I have thrown stuff in the dryer before and the heat dries them out and they come out and get stuck in the lint trap.

From my experience the foxtail species have small round seeds surrounded by a little bit of hairs, nothing that will stick to your clothes. A grass species that gives me issues in IA is downy brome/cheat grass, which I tend to remove individual seeds by hand.

Foxtail will definitely stick like Velcro to attack pants.

I would just wash and dry them a few times. You probably won't notice it after awhile.

That doesnt sound like the foxtail i know. It definitely sticks and will work its way in and hard to get out. You have to pull each one individually. Think miniature Lawn Darts. . But the OPs post sounds more like the little miniature Burrs you pick up by the thousands if you get into a patch... and its pretty much means removing by hand .

Not a problem until they dry and turn yellow,. Then each one of those is a separate sticker as pictured

I should have photographed the culprit in the field and my pants before I started my efforts to resolve the issue and remove the stickers. My bad for leaving the respondents groping in the dark. Thanks for the answers, however.
