I dug out the old longbow my dad has had in his closest since I was a kid. It was in his great aunts attic when she died. It is still in the original box and there is also a box of arrows, the string and an arm guard. I believe it is either a 1941 or pre - ‘41, the arrows are 1942 arrows still new in the package and as far as I can tell none have been shot.

Some moths or mice got into the box while it was in the attic and ruined some feathers. I’m not sure how rare these are but this thing could go in a museum. The bow still has the draw weight tag taped to the leather grip with clear tape.

I can’t find hardly any info on the store that sold it but their phone number was only a 3 digit number which dates it back to the early 1900’s.

Thought I’d share. It would be fun to string it up and see if it would shoot but it sure would be a shame to damage it.

Pretty cool man. If you want more info, I'd post something up on the Leatherwall. Lots of knowledge of old stuff over there.

What a great find! Here is a link to the Ben Pearson catalogs that go back to 1941 - you may find your bow in there. Thanks for sharing the pics!

In the 1955 Ben Pearson catalog, they show a 765 model between 60"-66" around that draw weight and length. Shows it's a lemonwood bow with fiber backing. There's also a 705 around that same time that has "Fortisan" backing. Not sure what that is. I have one similar. It's a wall hanger now. Last time I drew it back, I heard a creaking noise so decor it is! Now those arrows...wow!
