Visiting my parents and the LGS (Fin, Feather & Fur) has a Browning X Bolt speed in .280AI
Looks to be a new model from the Browning site, 24" barrel, 1-8 twist.
Price $1139, spent most the evening reading past posts here and online. Could not find much info on these x bolt speeds or price comparison.
Posts here seem to favor the Browning Hells Canyon which this appears to be a spin off of?
Weight is little over 6 pounds, how bad will this kick my ass? :D I own a .270 and 2 .45/70s and fire factory ammo out of them. All stronger than my 6.5cm so I won't figure that in.

Shop had no .280AI ammo but, did have a few boxes of Remington green box .280 140 grain. Figure I'd get a few boxes of those and start my brass collection.

Seeking guidance from you all in the know, buy or look at something else?

Recoil shouldn’t be too bad. I had a HC Speed in 30-06 and it was fine. It was also the most accurate gun I’ve ever owned. Browning stocks just don’t fit me

I like the x-bolts a lot, my "go to" rifle is my Hunter in 25-06 for reference. I have the Hells Canyon LR (basically same rifle you're asking about but a 26" barrel). Recoil isn't bad, in fact it's less that my Bergara B14 30-06 which is a thumper. This will replace that rifle in my stable.

I've got one, last year's model. It's shoots under MOA with a few factory ammos I've tried in it (Nosler AB 160g & Federal TA 155g). It's just over an MOA with Nosler AB 140g. Also have some Nosler PT 160g that I've not tried yet. Factory ammo is scarce at the moment though.

Doesn't kick much at all to me. The trigger on mine adjusted down to just under 3 lb, no problem. The only gripe I have about it is I'm not crazy about the Cerakote finish. It seems to scratch too easily to me. But it's a hunting gun to me, so that's not a real problem.
