Fort Scott Munitions??

Does anybody have any experience with this ammo? I've been interested in the 123 gr 6.5 Grendel TUI (tumble upon impact) rounds by Fort Scott Munitions. They are pricey, at about 1.75$ per round, but they are the first copper bullets that I've seen for 6.5 grendel.

I'm currently using the Custom Hornady 123 gr SST, which have proven to be accurate & dependable but have yet to shoot a deer with one.

Is the bullet's tumble upon impact design legitimate? Or is it just a new trendy thing?
Any feedback is appreciated, thanks!

I’m planning to use the 123SST this year as well. I wouldn’t bother with monos in a Grendel unless you’re talking 90-100gr bullets.

Is your reasoning for not using monos with the Grendel an accuracy or a recoil issue? I really dont know much about ballistics so I appreciate the info

Grendel just isn’t a very fast round. Monos require speed to open up. You’d probably be fine using them if you limit shots on game to ~300 yards. There are folks here that know way more about it than me but I think that with a round that starts out kinda slow like Grendel, a softer cup and core style bullet is the ticket. I hope to have some first hand knowledge on this in a few weeks. I have heard a few local guys complaining about Grendel not being effective on game but they are all using stout bullets (2 were loading Barnes monos).
I have no experience with a bullet designed to tumble. There’s a couple good threads here about it if you spend some time searching.

I know this is a pretty old thread, but thought I'd update because I just killed a whitetail with Fort Scott "TUI" copper solids this morning. 6.5 Creedmoor at about 80yds.

Bullet went in low ribs just behind the shoulder, little 1/2" entrance wound, came out just in front of the other shoulder, also small 1" exit wound. Turned everything in between to jelly!

Still not sure if I'm totally sold on them. I picked them up because I was curious and there wasn't a lot of 6.5 hunting ammo available at that price. As always, shot placement is everything. Would it have left a big enough wound channel on a lung shot? Would it have snapped the spine on a neck shot? Probably. But the clean pass through makes me wonder compared to the catastrophic damage a standard expanding bullet does.
