I just dropped off a carbon Manners folder the other day for a build. i want to say it was like 3lb 8oz or something like that. Its the skinny foreend tactical model with the sloped rear. 100% carbon fiber.

but i wasn't going for a lightweight build.

Honestly im kinda torn on it and how I will like it, but i figured it might come in handy on this build as i plan to use a suppressor on it alot.

mine has a solid lock up, ive heard some dont lock up as solid as the one i have.

should be ready in a few weeks ...

I wouldn't say it's for a ultralight weight i have a carbon titanium long range rifle. Likley a 9.5 pounder or so without optics. I was thinking it would be handy if i did run a suppressor on it. Bates let me know your thought s on that manners folder after you get it back competed. A finished 26 inch barrel with brake or suppressor is a fairly lengthy outfit

While again not a uber lightweight option but a full chassis is approaching weight of what Manners folders are. I willing be using the XLR carbon chassis with folder adapter for the coming months for a review later in the year after I get some more time behind it. After using a XLR element all last summer/fall I am pretty sold on the folding stock for my long (24"+) barreled rifles.

While 3.6 pounds isn't exactly light, even putting a 27" barreled rifle with Sendero contour still comes in at around 8.75 pounds for the rifle.

Here is the chassis:

luke- how tight is the lockup on that XLR chassis. I have been torn on putting one together but have not had a chance to see how tight the lock up is. I can not stand a little slop on folding stocks.

XLR has adjustment screws that you can adjust any wiggle in the folder out of it so it locks up super tight and no wiggle. It doesn't lock in the folded position though, only locks open, but I am ok with that.

To make it a folder do you put a LAW tactial folding "thing" on the back of the chassis?

The world needs a light weight, not $1000, folding stock for back country hunters.

I put a LAW folder on my AR for coyotes/prairie dogs and love it for the pack and and pack out.

No not the LAW folder, XLR makes one of their own for $115 and much easier to install than the LAW one is to put on an AR. :)

You can get into a XLR or MDT chassis for sub $800 pretty easily if you pick the right chassis, even sub $700 if you wait for sales.

Very nice luke . I've been eyeing this stock for a while too. I like the feel of the grip for a long range rig. Nice

Luke to get to 8.75 pounds on that finished rifle are you talking carbon sendero profile or a fluted steel barrel ?

Yeah it’s the Hells Canyon Amory carbon barrel group buy deal. 27” carbon .284” bore barrel.
