Howdy all

I've been lurking in the shadows since the end of last year. Decided to get a little more involved. I'm relatively new to hunting. I didn't grow up hunting, although I've always been an avid outdoorsman. This 2014 season will be my 5th season in the field. I've had to teach myself, so the going has been slow. Last season was my first productive season. I took a black bear while out during elk season last year. I'm hopelessly addicted. I love bear hunting and the Bruin has become a bit of an obsession. I've spent the last 9 months reading book after book, and article after article. As well as lurking here on the ROK as well as other sites. I've been studying all aspects of both black bear and the Columbia black tail. I'm tired of combat hunting, and wading through the sea of Orange. This year I'm heading backcountry to the higher elevations. I've already been out and started scouting the area I'll be hitting come August. Planning several more trips before then.

Just wanted to say howdy and thanks for all the good intel thus far.
