I've been lurking for a while, mostly reading Robby Denning's articles. I grew up hunting mule deer and antelope in New Mexico, also did a lot of calling and trapping coyotes. Now I'm stuck in Chicago for employment, working on the points game in several of the western states. I drew a good mule deer tag in CO this fall. I am curious, are there any other guys around the Chicago land area who hunt out west?
I'm not a newbie to the outdoors, I've done a lot of whitewater kayaking/rafting, mountain biking, and backpacking, and did a lot of hunting in NM but that was mostly day trips from a pickup. I am new to the logistics of planning a trip out west from the Midwest.
