FNG from the Virginia Coast

Born and raised at the beach here in VA. Professionally I'm a licensed funeral director and embalmer here in VA. Born with a major respiratory birth defect, short story is I function on about 40% of the normal adults lung function. That didn't stop me from undertaking 1800 miles of the Appalachian Trail over the years, but after a collapsed lung and pneumonia last year I had to give it up. I've always enjoyed whitetail hunting, but my dream is to get in some backcountry elk and sheep hunts while I'm young and not on oxygen. So I'm here to read, learn, and plan.

Thanks for the warm welcome. This year is focused on backpack whitetail hunts in the Shenandoah Valley. Next year I'll start working my way West. Biggest problem I face is my lung function at altitude. Hoping to mitigate some of that by trying to score out of state tags for elk in KY.
