I have never had issues with this combo. Buddy asked to to fletch a dozen axis arrows for him.
Did as I usually do and cleaned up the wrap with 99 percent alcohol. Used a brand new bottle of glue.

Now he is losing fletching

Any ideas?

I know you said brand new bottle of glue, but did you check the expiration date? May have bought old stock, has happened to me before.

I recently had the same issue with loctite ultra gel but with IW vanes. I stripped everything and refletched with TAC primer pen/glue/vanes. I wasn't sure which was the issue (glue or vanes) so I eliminated both.

If your using rubbing alcohol then that could be your issue. I think what you want is 91%, or possibly denatured. If you want to be sure you could use AAE wipes. I just use a micro fiber cloth and water for cleaning.

hmmm.. Thanks for saying that. I've been losing fletchings and losing my mind as well. I never had issues before but I thought I was being extra careful by wiping down with rubbing alcohol.

I use Gold Tip Tip Grip glue and clean with denatured alcohol or 91% isopropyl alcohol. No issues so far using Q2i vanes (no primer necessary) and gluing straight onto carbon arrows or wraps.
My current bottle of Tip Grip is about 1-1/2 years old and still working fine, but good thread to remind me to check the expire date on it. It has to be getting close if not already expired.
I keep it in the fridge between uses, it hardens up if you don't.
