Flat Back vs Standard

You can swap stays on the duplex frame but the bikini frame is "fixed". No way to swap stays on the bikini.
I'd give Kifaru (Aron, Kevin, or Joe) a call and talk to them. They'll be ableto walk you thru it.

According to the Kifaru test I have a standard back as well but the flat back stays are way more comfortable for me.

I'm no expert by a long shot but also keep in mind you can do some adjustments by simply picking which profile fits you. I was getting a lot of lower back pressure and ended up bending the last 6" of the stay outwards (away from my lower back) in .25" increments. I packed 105# back to camp a few weeks later and it was a real pleasure.

For some that may not know, you can only do this with the standard aluminum stays. If you opt for the lighter weight composite stays, you have the 2 options of flat back or standard back. I'm not sure if they have any other custom profiles for the composite, but I don't think so.

The adjustability is the benefit to the Al stays in a duplex frame. If you need to custom bend them you cannot go OEM lightweight, but Aron, Joe, or Heath can talk you through the bending process to make sure you get the perfect fit. A search on the HPG forum will reveal a couple of weight shaving threads that will equal the savings of the composite stays for less money. The HPG one piece shoulder harness will supply a large part of the weight savings, and replacing the stays with slightly thinner stock will decrease the ridgitity slightly, for an additional bit of weight savings. The benefit is the cost and the fact that you can go back to OEM if the reduced stiffness is detrimental to your loadhauling.

When I get to a machine that will let me cut and paste links I will post a link.

Actually they have a semi-flat back stay as well. So 3 back profiles - curved, semi-flat back, and flat back. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ULmr9yR-Xo
