Pretty excited about this! Been planning this hunt for 2 years! Leaving for Montana on Saturday, stopping to pick up a buddy in Nebraska on the way. I have done everything I possibly could to prepare. Been doing Crossfit and am in the best shape of my life. I am physically and mentally prepared. Got my rifle dialed in and my Kifaru pack dialed in. All my gear is ready and tested. I talked with the area game warden and got a ton of tips.
I'm planning on taking a bunch of pics and video. I may play around with the video later and try to make a short film.
1 week living in the mountains DIY spot and stalk black bear. I am pumped!

Have fun. The nice thing about spring bear hunting is you don't have to be up at the crack of dawn. The first time I went, I was up like I would be elk hunting. It took me a couple of days to realize that Yogi doesn't get out of bed that early.

Enjoy the extra cup of coffee in the morning!

Find good vantage spots and sit. Spring bears are always moving. Be ready to shoot at all times it happens fast!
Have fun, spring is a great time to be in the mountains

Did that hunt myself last spring for the first time. One of the more enjoyable 8 days I've ever spent in the backcountry. Spring is coming alive and the bears are on the move!

Well I'm back home and settled back in. Had an awesome time in Montana. I didn't get to tag a bear but my buddy did. Put about 40 miles on the boots and 145 miles on the quads! Big country!
