Well today was a big scouting day and I took out my new Crispi Lapponia boots. I also have the Thor's, but tried the Lapponaia's today. Overall the boot was comfortable, but after about 5 miles my toes starting get hot (real hot). The hot spot seemed to be at the front part of the ball to the bottom of the toes. When I stopped it went away and didn't feel or create any blisters. Has anyone had this happen? Below, I'll lay out of current setup, as it may help. I'm hoping to gain some insight, as this is a now one for me. The Thor's are also new and only have 6-8 miles , but all seems good so far. It's a long story how I ended up with two new pairs of boots at the same time, but I should be good for awhile.

Footwear setup:
Crispy Lapponia
Superset insoles (copper)
Darn Tough merio micro crew sock (no liners)

Looking forward to your feedback!

For decades now I've worn poly liner socks, but was reading where lots of folks liked just wearing the merino socks by themselves. So I tried that. And when I wear just a merino sock without a poly liner sock, the bottoms of my feet feel like they are on fire.......and they will turn bright red. I throw on a poly liner sock and they're fine.

5miles, same with me. I have to wear a liner sock too. The merino wool socks aren't kind to my feet. No blisters, just heat generated somehow.

Thanks for the info. I'll swing by REI and pick up some liners.
