I wear xl in llanos and chamas but l wear a large in the puffy so I figured this would be about right. How much heavier/thicker is this than a chama?

A lot. Its 400 grn I believe chama is 200 ish. These are great sweaters and this is an awesome price

It fits like an XL.

I had an XL and I found it tight in the shoulders for an XL. It's definitely long, but seemed slim cut to me. But then again, I find all their merino a bit tight.
