I am thinking of buying A First Aid book thru Amazon Kindle so that I would be able to access it with my phone. We'll be camped in the back country elk hunting next month and think it would be a good resource to have handy. Being able to load it on my phone before leaving is a zero ounce addition to my first aid kit. Sure beats carrying a paperback copy!
Anyone have any suggestions for a good book? One I looked at is called Bush Craft First Aid, but there are a number of other choices as well. Something written in layman's terms would be preferred.

NOLS Wilderness Medicine

I think I got it as a free Kindle download

Nothing beats doing a proper first aid course, with yearly or two-yearly refreshers. And if there's a remote area / wilderness course, all the better. Beyond that, there are some advanced rescue first aid courses also.

But, if you did want printed info, I'd be unsure about fumbling with (and trying to navigate) a phone in the heat of the moment ... there are some dedicated, backpackable, first-aid kit sized booklets expressly designed for wilderness first aid which are worth packing for very remote or extended trips.
