Quick Q.

Is there a way to highlight/filter for general deer vs Draw units for NR on the hunt planner map? That map is very clumsy and not as helpful as some. I've been going in unit by unit between the map and Regs brochure but its slow going.

Not sure what you’re asking, there are no OTC tags for NR unless you count antlerless B tags for Whitetail. If you’re asking about specific units needing a special draw to hunt then it would be easier to decide what unit or area you’re wanting to hunt and check in those units.

Crap, meant general units. Would be nice if you could color code the general units vs limited entry

Yeah, Wyoming's Hunt Planner map is clunky AF no direct highlight/filter for general deer vs. limited quota draw units or NR specific. Best hack Select Deer species, zoom to your region, then layer Hunt Areas and eyeball the color coded boundaries general lighter greenish, limited bolder reddish. Cross ref the regs PDF for NR eligibility per unit. For faster, dump it and use onX Hunt's overlay toggles general draw NR odds in seconds, way smoother.

That would take all the fun out of it 😂.
Do you know what Region or hunting units you want to focus on? If you’re looking for a general unit, throw a dart at the map. If you’re wanting a limited entry you’ve really cut your odds of drawing as only 10% of limited tags go to NR. Either way good luck.

Haha, I’m positioning myself for a general deer hunt next year. Did the breaks N of the river last year and had a lot of fun…was considering a float trip or just a different change if scenery all together.

Looking at it, just paying attention to where the public vs private is almost half the state is off the table. Pretty much breaks and surrounding area, or western state with the grizzlies on national forest land

You need to take Block Management properties into consideration, there are large numbers of them as well as BLM and State Trust lands.

Funny, I’m looking over Block management units right now. Pulled a B tag as well last year and spent time on 2 walk up type BMA and saw dies but ultimately let them walk as we had our buck already.

People often find bucks on Block management?

Absolutely, here’s a few from over a few years.
