FILSON TIN CLOTH WORK JACKET - Large - Excellent Condition

I’ve owned this jacket since July. Worn it 3-4 times around town. Just too large for me. My wife bought it. I have stuck with my 20+ year old Filson in a medium.

Best Tin cloth jackets made. Jacket is a 9 out of 10.

I have not waxed it.

  • Built with durable, weather-resistant Tin Cloth
  • Torso lined with Cover Cloth, sleeves with polyester
  • Snap-flap cargo pockets
  • Flannel-lined hand pockets
  • Wool-lined collar
  • Hip-length
Our new Tin Cloth Work Jacket is patterned after a classic wool jacket pulled directly from our archives. That original wool jacket exemplified functional utility, and the waxed canvas version adds the decades-proven durability and weather protection of our signature Tin Cloth. The interior torso is lined with lightweight canvas Cover Cloth and the sleeves with polyester for ease of layering. Two large cargo pockets secure with snapped flaps and conceal Alaskan Guide flannel-lined hand pockets. The wool lining on the collar adds warmth when turned up to protect from cold wind. The cut is hip-length, allowing access to a tool belt and preventing the jacket from riding up when seated.

Our oil finish Tin Cloth is a tightly woven canvas duckthat’s been thoroughly saturated with paraffin under high pressure and heat. This process forces the wax into the core of the cotton fibers for lasting water resistance. Tin Cloth’s exceptionally tight weave allows it to withstand abrasion, block the wind, and gives it tremendous tear strength, the core attributes that have made it trusted for protection the rain-soaked forests of the Pacific Northwest for more than 80 years.

What’s your general build? Is it a carhart size large?

I am 5’ 11” about 180. Waist 33”

Below is the size chart from Filson. It’s just too big in the chest for me. My chest is 41. I realize the jacket would be worn maybe over a hoodie or heavy flannel but it just has a little too much chest room for this skinny guy.

A little long in the sleeves for me. My length is 34”. This jacket is a 35-36.

Never worn a carhart so it’s hard to say.

The Filson Medium fits me well.

Hope that helps.
