Filming Sheep Hunt Tips

Looking for some suggestions on filming my own sheep hunt. Has anyone successfully done this and have any tips or suggestions?

Any camera recommendations that can be easily used for filming and photography as well? Willing to spend $2,000 for something decent but not sure if I need a DSLR or a video camera. Was also thinking a mounted GoPro may be necessary while hiking and such.

There was a thread on here a few months ago "Camera for Dall Sheep hunt" there was a lot of info on different cameras. 3 pages back. I use a Canon Powershot SX50. Decent price, not to heavy and takes great photos and video. Tripod helps a lot.
