Has anyone here ever swapped their factory Sako stock for a Fierce one? I have a Finnlight in 7-08 that we have harvested many deer with, I love the action and the 5+1, I have always wanted something nicer than the plastic stock though.

There’s been a few guys that have swapped them. Unfortunately aftermarket options are limited with sakos. The fierce rage stock is compatable as well as the older edge series. For drop in options there’s also antler arms, MPI, and Boyd’s. Otherwise you could look for a flat top from any of the big aftermarket’s and have it custom inletted.

Fierce rage and rage lr are basically drop ins with very minor modification. I’ve spoken with the fierce reps about this.

I’ve tried antler arms and they have been terrible to deal with. They seem to have no interest in selling me a stock.

There is also Kroseg out of New Zealand, super nice looking stocks.

If I keep my sako 85, I will be dropping it into a fierce rage LR.

It's hard to give up the Sako, it's been a good rifle to me. I love the action, I may rebarrel. But truly it's the stock I would like to replace and if I can get a Fierce for a reasonable price it seems like a good iinvestment.

I agree, mines been awesome, great action.

Fairly reasonable prices new.

Are any specs listed for these? I'm curious about them.

I had a fierce edge a few years ago with this stock on it. The action was a sako 85 LA clone with a 24” sender contour carbon barrel. Bare rifle weighed 6 lbs 14 oz. It’s a nice quality carbon fiber stock. I would guess in the 30 oz range. The ergos are somewhat dated with the Monte Carlo cheek piece and all but I liked the palm swell. I could not shoot it well though. The front end is somewhat narrow and rounded and the grip angle made it hard for me to have a consistent trigger pull. It does exhibit muzzle rise. I sold it for those reasons. I would probably have a new finnlight 90 if it wasn’t for the lack of stock options I like. Ya all might see if McMillan can inlet one of their newer designs for this action.

I may consider rebarreling first, and then consider a different stock. It's mostly the balance of the rifle that I don't care for. I prefer rifles to be a bit more front-heavy. I have been considering rebarrelign to a 21" 6cm. I think it would be pretty slick for WT, better than 7-08? maybe not noticeable. But since I want to change the way it balances, it might be the time to do it. If I went with a slightly heavier contour, it must be easy enough to shave away some of the synthetic barrel channel?

You can use a socket wrapped with sand paper to open up the barrel channel with a little elbow grease. I seen a Boyd’s laminate stock over on gunpost that would fit your rig as well. Think it was around $350
