I have saved enough money for a caribou hunt.

This will be my first guided hunt. I have been researching different guide services and outfitters, as well as searching different forums looking for input.

In a couple weeks, I will be at the Hunt Expo in SLC and was planning to chat with a few of the guides about booking a hunt.

Are there certain questions I should be asking?
If you had some advice to share on the subject, what would it be?

I like talking with references, both “good” (tag notched) and “bad” (tag soup), and I like to get a good sense of the operation by talking to the owner if able. In the end, go with your gut. Nothing is promised hunting wise so don’t book to a harvest rate but rather who you feel comfortable giving your money to.

If you can add where you want to hunt caribou, some first hand knowledge or recommendation will be had here.
