I’m about to start working up a load on a new custom fast twist 243 Winchester for PRS. Lapua brass, n160 powder, Berger 105’s out of a 21” Bartlein 1:7.5” heavy barrel. I have a smattering of primers kicking around but only like 120 Fed 210m left, 200 WLR. I have 1100 Federal 215’s that I’ve had for years. I have three magnum rifles, 338 win mag, 7mm rem mag, and a new custom 300 Win Mag I haven’t shot or worked up loads for yet and might not keep. I have a ton of loaded 338 and 7mm mag ammo already, and don’t see my myself using many of these 215’s before I die even if I keep the 300 Win. I also cannot find large primers, so I’m thinking of just using up these Federal 215’s in the 243 Winchester. Am I going batshit 🦇 crazy here or is this reasonable?

I switched to only Fed 215M last year for everything. You said you are working up the loads, so no worries.

I used 215’s for my .243 for years. Just recently switched to 210’s and cci 200’s. I have multiple loads worked up using lapua brass, sierra 85 grains and IMR4350 and H4350.
