I recently began loading for a new to me caliber, 7mm remington magnum. i've loaded for similar calibers before (270wsm) but always used imr powders back then like 7828, 4832 and 4350. i have a few loads with hodgdon powders but am exploring other options as well. to choose from i still have H1000, H4381, H4350, Retumbo, several Ramshot powders, etc. i'm not opposed to trying reloader 23 or others but would like some input on their temperature properties. i shoot and hunt in conditions that range from -10f to mid 90's. i'd be happy if i could keep the change in fps range to less than 20fps/2fps per 10* fahrenheit.

H1000 is my "go to".

In the past I used RL-22 pretty much exclusively in my 7mag with great results, but I never was shooting longer range with it (beyond 500 yards). But H1000 has provided very consistent and accurate loads. If I had started with it 40 years ago, I probably would have used it back then too.

With 162 Amaxes, I am driving them at a nice 3050-3075 with RL-22. Great pwdr for me in my 7mmRM with a 27" Brux barrel. Like the load so much, I went and pick up the other 5# jug of that powder lot.

Thanks for the replies. I may give h1000 another try for my 160 accubonds. I wish I could duplicate the factory load because it shoots really well. Only thing I could improve upon is the SD. Likely neck tension or slight charge variations.

I have tried many and I thing VV N570 is one of the most stable in temps I have ever seen.

I do like the idea of this powder but it seems had to find and bit expensive. If we have another run on powders it may disappear for another 3 years.

I've been running IMR 7828 for a few years in my 7 rem mag. I am at near max load for my rifle. This load shoots great in cooler temps (50 degrees & below) but as the temps get to 70ish degrees or higher, my accuracy seems to degrade.
The IMR 7977 is advertised as being temp stable. Does anyone have any first hand experience with this powder in cool and warm temps?
