Anyone using a K4 frame and smaller pack for whitetail? Looks like a smaller profile for hanging in a tree but plenty big for packing a large deer out. I just haven’t seen one in person here in Alabama. Any info is appreciated, thanks!

I used the K3 and 1800 with lid for whitetail when I was one sticking. Worked great.

For day hunting whitetails I don't think you could do better unless it's really really cold and you have a ton of bulky layers to take in.

It works like any number of frame pack and bag combos.

The 2200 profile isn’t really any smaller than similar pack systems. The Exo bags/frame are slightly narrower than most, but it’s a few inches at most and hardly going to make a difference when everything is drawn tight. The larger K4 bags when empty or near empty cinch down as small as the 2200 too. Really it’s the belt you have to contend with in the tree sometimes.

The narrow K4 bags make packing outer layers in the bag a bit tedious, but you can put them in the frame with a stand or platform if you saddle hunt.

Really comes down to which frames work for you and which feature set you prefer.

I have the 2200 but often prefer another option. Still it’s a good light frame and the 2200 works ok-very well for me in most scenarios too. I’d prefer a slightly different bag design for my purposes but everyone’s specific use isn’t the same so I couldn’t say for you how it’ll go.
