Etrex 10

Looking for a simple backup GPS that I can use in case my phone is compromised in the backcountry. Would a Etrex 10 be a good tool?

I'd go with the eTrex 20 rather than the 10. Color screen and expandable memory (can add the OnXMaps chip). Love my eTrex 20.

I have the 10 and have had great results. For a simple reliable and cost effective gps its just fine. Always finds the truck

You can find Garmin Oregon GPS 450 for around 120-150. Great GPS at a great price.

For what you are asking for, the etrex 10 will do the job. Very reasonable price as well.
