Looking to swap my Mark 5 out to a mil scope.

My only complaint about the mark 5 is the size. It's on a prairie rifle so it's not a big deal and it's still light.

Just wondering how the Eotech stacks up against the mark 5 and nx8.

It weighs as much as the mark 5 but it's half size.

The image in them from my memory was hot garbage at higher mag compared to NX8 and mk5
One of the major compromises from having ultrashort scopes and high zoom ratios

Durability unknown

Vudu is shorter in length for a 34mm tube but still heavy. I carry the rifle into the field so sticking to a lightweight scope. I switched out to Trijicon with a 30mm tube. Those scopes weigh 24 oz.

I own/owned all 3. I was in the reverse situation. I switched out my MOA Vudu for a mil MK5.

My hunting rig has a 2.5-20 NX8. The eye box is finicky (in comparison) but everything else about it is as advertised. I ate $hit hard out in WY this fall. Worst spill on a rifle I’ve ever had. Came home, shot a 10rd group, still money.

My NRL Hunter rig has a MK5 on it. The glass, eye box, turret etc is very nice. No complaints from me. The MK5s just haven’t been know to be as bomb proof as NF. Idk if the MK5 would have survived the spill in WY.

I had the Vudu on my NRL rig. I honestly liked it. If it was in MIL I’d probably still be using it. The turret leaves something to be desired. The rest of the feature set is nice for the price point. I do prefer the MK5 over it. For a hunting rig I may be more inclined to stick with the eotech of that was my plan.
