WTS Encore .50cal Smokeless Barrel

Selling for a co-worker/hunting buddy for full disclosure:

DA Van Horn 50 cal smokeless muzzleloader barrel for TC Encore. Barrel was bought used on Gunbroker probably 3 years ago and when he called DA Vanhorn they said they made a small run of like 4 or 6 of these barrels for a Client of theirs. The Breech plug was made to shoot variflame modules and the barrel and breech will come with 9 modules, decapping setup for modules, and a ramrod. The barrel shoots well using 62.2gr IMR4198 and 300gr Thor.

The barrel is stamped "black powder". Unless it is stamped elsewhere I would not trust smokeless powder in that barrel. That's an accident waiting to happen... and feel free to correct me if there is info to the contrary, but I would hate to be reading about one of our fellow members missing limbs or parts of their face or worse! If it was listed as a black powder muzzleloader barrel and someone decides to risk it, that's on them. Black powder is not the same as smokeless powder. Smokeless might be black but that is not the same as Black Powder!!! Just a fair warning is all.

When he got the barrel he called DA Van Horn they gave him load data info on using the 4198. Not sure why the stamp is on there honestly. He had the same question when he bought it! Anyone who is interested, I can get you the owner's cell number and he can provide info for you to reach out to van horn or he may have info from them in an email from several years ago, I can check.

I bought a savage ml2 from the same gentleman he bought the encore barrel from so I can try to find his info as well.
