Elk Packers: CO

First time elk hunt and I'd like to get in touch with a packer for GMU 21 CO. I have tried googling, but that hasn't yielded anything.

How do you find packers for your hunts? Anyone know somebody I can contact?

Try searching for local guides and make some phone calls. I've never found much on the internet. Could also try calling businesses that would be in the hunting industry in local towns like processors or taxidermists and ask them too.

njdoxie - I totally agree, some kind of a sticky with packers listed would be great. I see this question come up every year on several sites.

I had 2 packers lined up for my area but also planned on having to do it myself. Contacting them and getting them to your location could be problematic also. Assume your on your own

Most packers are ranchers or outfitters who will pack out meat if possible but don’t count on them.

Try calling the local CPW office and ask who the outfitter in that area is.
