I usually hunt the perimeter of the tamarisk groves here in Arizona. They are so thick and nasty, challenging even walking the inside because of all the vines and thorns. They have game trails exit/entrance all over. The perimeter doesn’t make it much easier, with nearly no elevation you setup, sometimes they pop out with a few hundreds yards, but the usual take is 600-800yd.
Curious in you alls experience, ever try to hunt inside tamarisk? I’ve got a long barrel 44mag, a hunting buddy has a 300bo sbr. We’ve tried to walk the inside a few times, one time a buddy was spotting and saw a bedded one pop up and run 10-20 yards from where we were standing, but just couldn’t see crap in there.
