About 6 years ago I packed in a solar yard light. They are great for when you get close to camp to guide you in. If security is a concern obviously you want to not utilize.

I've thought about that, the sawtooth is like a black hole on a moonless night! I have a couple of those solar powered Luci Lights we use backpacking, I wish they had a setting to come on automatically at dark.

I just leave the luci on lowest setting during the day and leave it outside to charge and it's on when I come back

I use reflective paracord, can see it from well within GPS margin of error.

The MSR parachord lights up like a Christmas tree. Even when the headlamp is in red light mode.

What would be nice is if you could get one of those red blinking bike lights with a remote. Get within a couple hundred yards and hit the remote. Maybe I should make one lol
