Just curious for those who run or have seen first hand the elevated II line, what are your thoughts on how dark it is? I realize it's a pattern designed for stand sitting, but I have only seen pics of the clothing and sometimes it looks like a dark blob. I'm looking to update some gear and the fanatic light and stratus pants intrigue me but the only way for me to see it is to order as I live 3-4 hours away from a store that would carry it. I know there's tons of other camos that are "good enough for the tree" but clothes may double duty as I hunt Montana rifle hunt every year.

It’s pretty dark and better for the later season in my opinion. I definitely would not wear it in the early whitetail season.

In terms of double duty, be mindful of the fact that it is very heavy compared to other Sitka items. It’s meant to fit and insulate a person who is sitting still for a long period of time.

I use Sitka Subalpine or KUIU Verde for all whitetail hunting because it can easily pull double duty for elk. If you buy the proper layers, you can also stay very warm in the stand.

Thanks, that's what I was wondering about sitting earlier in the season. Usually around rut time by us I would say when you look through the woods it has a more golden look to it.

I would be comfortable hunting in EV during the SC rut (early November-ish) and later. But during August/September/most of October, I just like being in more browns and yellows and greens. I really like the look of Sitka Subalpine and plan on using it for early hunting this year. I also think there can be a definite crossover b/w mountain hunting clothes and early southern whitetail (because of sweat wicking and breathability). Keep in mind though, SC’s rifle season (in my game zone) runs August 15 to January 1 so the temps start at 100 degrees and can end below freezing. If your deer season is shorter and colder, EV would be a good choice.
