I decided to head out yesterday morning for a couple quick stands. Having an east wind isn't normal around here this time of year, so I snuck into a spot I have been wanting to hunt, but haven't had the chance yet. I proned out in some knee high grass, watching over a cut bean field. The air was thick with moisture, almost a misty feel. Wind blowing about 8 MPH in my face, I started the stand. A few minutes of rabbit distress, followed by some woodpecker distress is all that was needed. At a little after the 6 minute mark, I had a coyote come slinking into the field about 70 yards away from me. She stopped and sat on her butt. The crosshairs of my 220 swift settled on her chest, and I squeezed off the round. There's not much better than watching a coyote topple over backwards through the scope. After a few field pics, and gathering my things, I pushed into the river bottom to take out a couple raccoons. Overall a great quick hunt.image2 (1).jpegimage3.jpeg

Awesome, Predator hunting is my favorite winter sport. Coyote, fox and bobcat.
