I have had OnX elite for years now, but recently I’ve been getting ads on Facebook for OnX Backcountry. It allows you to look at the terrain in 3D to get a better idea of what the area looks like. Has anyone ever used OnX backcountry? Is it worth the extra money? New to E-scouting so any tips or tricks to figure out a plan for a six day DIY early archery mule deer hunt in West New Mexico are greatly appreciated!

You can look at the terrain in 3D with OnX Hunt Elite, from my understanding the backcountry app is more for hiking, skiing, mountain biking & rock climbing.

I had Onx Elite and then switched to premium. Elite on the computer had the terrain x feature which was super fun to play with but you can also achieve this by using google earth and a little more brain power. On the computer I tend to have both Onx and google earth open going back and forth between the 2.

Also when it comes to E-scouting create multiple plans of attack. Every time I have gone in the back country my main plan of attack has changed. Some things the maps just can't show you.

I’ll definitely login to OnX on my laptop when I get home and try it out. Yes, seems like even determining a plan of attack from E-scouting is tough enough let alone making a plan B, C, D, etc..
The GoHunt app has been a great help as well.
