Down jacket

would there be any issue with using PU coated fabric for a down jacket? I have a synthetic jacket someone made for me with apex insulation and 1.6 ripstop, but it is not very wind resistant. Looking for something more wind resistant, and down proof. I realize it will not breath, but I would only use it stand hunting or for glassing

I wouldn't recommend. I tried a PU coated 1.1 rip stop as a shell, imagine wearing a garbage bag. Even if your not working or sweating your body is still giving off moisture that will condense on the PU coating and wet out your down. Would do much better with some thing calendared rather than coated.
