It took 3 years, but I finally have my double-pedestal blacktail mount. Both of these bucks are from the 2011 California season and both were archery bucks. The total score was 240" for the two deer.

My buddy Shawn told me I should do a double pedestal. Another guy I met, John McGannon, gave me the idea to have a see through base. I came up with and idea of how I would like it to look, made a sketch, cut the tree and my dad and I built the base. My taxidermist, Richard Sawaske, took all the ideas and materials and worked his magic.

I know I will never top 240" of archery blacktails in one season and, for me, this is the perfect way to display them.

It looks really nice and that's a heck of a season for CA. Richard does good work, I took him my first CA muley in 2004:)
