Statement from the DOI

I’ll let the DOI do their own talking, but they have a very cheerful spin on the prospect of selling off public lands in this article. They’re setting up a joint task force to Identify “underutilized” public land and streamline the process for off-loading and/or building on it.

It’s here. The fight for public lands is at our doorstep. There’s still going to be people here commenting that we need to wait and see but I for one will not. Corporations have bought up single family homes for air bnbs and drove the prices crazy. That’s what needs to change for housing prices, not developing our public lands.

None of it sounds good, but my guess is it’ll die at the state level. Most federal land that hunters use is too remote to be practical for the logistics of “affordable housing” residents, and anything closer to metropolitan areas is usually surrounded by ranches or wealthy communities that won’t want to have those projects ruin their view and property values.

Standing by for letters and petitions though.

Insane, heard 7 million housing units, roughly 20-30 million people, put on wintering grounds? Well there goes MD pops, there go draw odds for R and NR alike
