Says I am way weak. But I don't see how it's that off.

50 grain insert
125 grain point
300 spine
80#

cant really read that. i honestly don't think you will have any issues getting that arrow to tune out of that bow.

Sometimes those programs are screwy. Look like your talking bout gold tip kinetics. Here is the chart right from them and unless I'm reading it wrong looks like your right in there so I wouldn't sweat it.

I tried that exact set up @ 28.5/80 and ended up going with 200 Gold Tip Kinetics.

I was shooting a pretty "hard" cammed bow (Hoyt Spyder Turbo), and that plays a big part in arrow spine too.

Does that shaft length say 21 point something........or 31? Sure looks like 21. Just for reference I have a 32.5" draw and my shafts are all 30" carbon to carbon. So unless you have a really long draw length, even if it says 31 you could cut that back and stiffen it up as well.

I mean obviously it can't be 21".:)

It says 27.75

The bow I will be running is the carbon spyder turbo. I guess I'm gonna have to go with the 200s. It shows them as super stiff tho.

I can plug the numbers into my OT2 program and let you know what it tells me. Everything I have plugged into the OT2 program has been pretty spot on. What vanes are you running? And I'm assuming you are running the Accutough nocks? What insert do you have exactly? (GT or Easton, etc...)

I plugged your numbers in and used 28" as your DL. I was using blazer vanes and the Accutough nock and the insert at 49.8 grains. It shows that set-up in the yellow area between good and weak and not in the red so I think you would be fine and could get the arrows to tune with no problems. It shows 296 FPS with 95.93 KE and 14.78 FOC. I ran the program with a D-Loop on the string and not nocks. This program can get really specific with other variables too. Hope this helps. I'll be glad to run other set-ups for ya. Best of luck

Would you run it with the 200 spine kinetics with 150 grain broadhead and 50 grain insert??

My draw is 28 so that is correct..

That combo is way too stiff. It's sitting in the red on the stiff side. I ran the 300 GT Kinetics with just the 24.8 gr insert and 125 gr. head and it is just outside the green area in the yellow towards the weak side but well within good tolerances. I know we were talking earlier about buffalo on another chat. For my buffalo hunt set-up I ended up having to go the FMJ's GunMetal 300's with 75 gr. insert and 125 gr. head with a total arrow weight of 575 gr. 263 FPS (70lb DW and 29" DL, 29" arrow, on a Bowtech CPXL) Getting good KE at 88.76 and over 15% FOC. I know you said you did not like the FMJ's but I just got the arrows from the shop the other day and they are flying good. First time experience with them. Let me know if I can run anything else for ya.

Well the fmjs will be a little weak too I would assume. I don't always trust those computer programs and charts. I think they have to tight of tolerances than you really need to go by.

I have a half dozen of the kinetic 300s fletched up and I have a full dozen shafts of the kinetic 200s on the way. I'm going to play with the 200s and see if I can get them to fly good with like 200 or 225 up front.

The FMJ 250 dangerous game will get you right in the sweet spot with 200 gr. head and 75 gr. insert. The program is saying roughly 245 fps with your bow at 783 grains. I watched Bruce's bison hunt video and I'm assuming that is pretty close to his arrow set up based off his posted total arrow weight. I don't rely solely on this OT2 program but it sure does take a lot of the guess work out of it and gets your set-up pretty dang close. I just wish Gold Tip would run a 250 in the Kinetic.

The only problem i am having with going that heavy is bison is number 2 on my list.. I am moose hunting first and foremost.. Then bison will be a second animal if i can somehow stick a moose.. I will also have a mt goat tag... So dont want to be shooting 240 fps LOL

I hear ya!!! I sure as hell would not want to shoot that either. Good luck with all your hunts!

Aron, I have same bow but 70/29.5". I plan on HIT aluminum and 150 grain heads. Will they be too stiff at 28.5" ctc?
