do quakies have anything to do with water location?

so ive been in vast aspen forests with what appears to be very limited water which makes me think water sources such as seeps and springs have nothing to do with their location (of course it could have a high water table just below the surface you cant see)

however

then ive seen thick aspen stands in small areas with almost no other aspens around anywhere. these spots ive been into almost always have a seep or spring or some form of water.

is there any coincidence here? anyone else have the same experience? i was just putting in some time on google earth and it got me wondering..

if there are aspens/quakie patches and depending on the water table there is usually always a hiddin spring/seep. there are a few in particular ive been in almost my whole life that i find every year. like i said alot of it has to do with the water table. and stay consentrated on natural drainages and quite often they can appear just out in the middle of no where. if you would like a lil more info on aspen groves/patches pm me. good luck
