I personally have not been a fan of most bow slings that are available. Either they are not convenient if a fast shot opportunity arises, they put a lot of stress on my neck, or they slide off shoulder. In advance of my mule deer hunt next week I figured I would try to make a quick release holder that puts the weight on my pack, is light, and cheap.
With $3.00 worth of coat wall hangers and a bit of paradors, I came up with this. Hiked a mile with it and barely noticed it. It was secure and all of the weight was put on my pack where I didn’t feel it.
If anyone is looking for a cheap bow sling alternative, this may be of interest to you.
I’ll give my honest opinion of it after my hunt next week.
