A few buddy's and i are planning a DIY New Zealand Hunt in late march, early april on the south island. We are looking to hunt strong for two weeks, have no care for any high fence hunts really, but will be taking advantage of the huts through out the island and then doing spike camps off from there. Know a solid amount about regulations on hunting there, firearm regulations, and access. Are not to interested in the "blocks" so were going to go before then. But date is not set completely. Just wanting to see if anyone had any information on where to base the hunts off of. We will be per suing Red Stag, Follow Deer hopefully! and of course Chamois and Tahr. Understand the for those we will mainly be positioned on the west coast mountain ranges just not sure what region will have good numbers. We would be willing to pay small fee for anyone from there to meet up with us, do a little hunting and at least point us in the correct direction. Also if interested we are from Colorado and would love to swap hunts if anyone would like to. Have great access (honey holes) to Elk and Mule deer.
