Has anyone tried to make their own Hot Tent?
What did you use for a pattern?
How did you decide on a material?
What did you use for the stove jacket?

I found this from @WoodBow for stove jacks

It is literally fiberglass cloth impregnated with silicone. I made mine myself. Handles the temps no problem.
You can also buy the fabric or stove jacks from a place called something like bear paw shelters, or something like that.

IMHO it is better to buy one unless you want to do it as a hobby. I had a friend that made one from canvas tarps with no floor. He double stitched it, added a stove jack, added zippers and mosquito netting, with grommets for poles and then seam sealed it plus fire retardant treated it. Then he had to source poles cut to the right lengths, and added PVC end caps with bolts to fit in the grommets. Took him well over a year and he cussed a lot in the process.

That’s fair

I made a hot tent out of a Big Agnes Tensleep 6 if that counts. I just bought a stove jack from Bear Paw and sewed it in.

It has worked pretty well but of course since the tent does have a floor i decided to use a little aluminum stand under the stove. Even with the feet on the stove I thought I would raise it up another 3 or 4 inches for just a little more separation. I had a short pipe anyway so it even gave me a little more clearance over the top of the tent. I bought a welders blanket to put down under it but never used it. Here's some pics set up in the back yard when I was checking it. I know the pipe's too short for the tent but so far no harm done.
