Looks like a good light action for right under $1000. Can find pre fits for them. I wouldn’t mind picking one up, maybe this coming summer. Anyone had their hands on one?

Popular action, great reviews and feedback out there if you look around. I am building a gun off the Anti-X which has the integral rail on it.

Got mine in earlier this fall. Really like it and it weighed in right at advertised weight. Had a Proof Prefit for it and put everything together and it shoots like a dream. Chambered in 7 SAUM. It is my first custom action, but it is smooth, feeds well and does everything I would expect it to do. Would buy another (I have an anTi X on order)

I have one in XM length that, like @Decker9, will be a 6.5 prc. My Bartlein CF barrel arrived last week so I'll get it to the smith soon. Being my intent is for a lightweight hunting rifle I went with the aluminum Defiance XM bdl bottom metal. I've read it's made by Sunny Hill but can't confirm.

I don't have much experience with custom actions so I don't feel I can offer a lot by way of comparisons. The fit and finish is exceptional as I would expect but I can't say if it's any better or worse than other manufacturers. What sold me on the action was the reputation Defiance has in the industry and that it was all steel and very light. I have another anTi on order in a long action for another build.

Curious about the xm length. What bottom metal and do they still use a short action stock?
I have the defiance alloy BDL on order, I haven’t decided on a stock yet, AG composites inlets for the XM. The fellow who I ordered the action through said that manners will be inletting for the XM in their UL stock here in the next couple months.

As of now I’m leaning towards a wildcat composites stock in a short action, and getting a smith to work some magic to fit it together. Definitely the lightest option in a stock, and would be the cheapest as well, but the fitting for a XM may put that cost up a bit.

I went with a Manners EH-SL for my anTi XM action. Alloy BDL from Defiance, 22” #4 CFW barrel being spun up in 7 SAUM. Will run Talley pinned lightweights for now but debating buying a lightweight anTi rail from them.

Wildcat will be able to work I figure.
What about doing it blind mag style to try and save even more weight?

The BDL is pretty much only for looks, some reason I can’t get past the look of a plain underside of a stock.
I chatted with another fellow who had a wildcat reworked to jive with the XM action. It took some work but was doable.
I also have a nice walnut blank sitting here that Iv been saving for something. I’m thinking about inletting it for this action as well.

I used to hate them, but honestly after having them for hunts I don’t ever have to worry about accidentally dumping a mag.

Who’s doing your smithing? Gary Flach just finished my Montana 6.5 rpm and I’m waiting for it to show up. Super excited to show up

I haven’t lined anyone up yet, Gary is the fellow who’s done a wildcat into an XM. I think I’ll be looking to Gary to hopefully do the work for me, from what Iv seen and heard, he does fantastic work.

I’m heading over to Gary Eakins tomorrow to have a look at a couple AG composite stocks (privateer and sportsman). The only problem is the barrel channel inlet will be to wide for my skinny barrel, so will have to get one ordered with an uncut barrel channel, and hopefully have Gary mill it out for me if I go the AGC route.
I have a wildcat on my lightened up tikka and really like it, but am quite curious to shoulder a AG stock.

Out of curiosity. .. do you know how much Gary is asking for one of those AG stocks?
