Daypack dump/ tear it up

Not a ton of prep for my deer/elk/antelope trips that I just finished up. Most of my packs were already loaded and ready to go, from hiking to scouting to hunting, I didn’t go through and do any culling. Rip this up, cut/add, thought it would be fun discussion.
Some obvious redundancy, oops! Haha!

Looks like a lot of stuff for a day pack to me. You have 4 different lights, 4 different ways to make fire, 2 different fire starters, a spoon, knife sharpener, 3 knives, etc.

If you are looking to cut weight, I would start with the multiple redundancies. A light in the pack and one in the bino harness should be plenty. A lighter in the bino harness with some firestarter and a pack of matches in the pack should do you fine. If you are primarily using the havalon, a few spare blades would allow you to ditch the knife sharpener. Looks like your snack bag has a bunch of coffees and drink mixes, but no stove or cup for heating a warm drink. If it's a day pack, you don't need a week's worth of drinks. You have paracord, so you can leave the pack repair stuff at the truck and improvise until you get back to it.

The one thing I don't see is TP. Might consider including some of that.

Eliminate redundancy, converge on multi-purpose items. Example cell phone is a secondary flashlight, and compass. Is the multitool necessary? If your location has cell service consider omitting the inreach. Agree with @Gunnersdad49.

While I havnt weighed my setup. And you are packing around more glass than I am. I cant imagine a 30lb daypack.

I would cut it back to something like this to start.

I’ll put the redundancies on a scale tonight and check it out.
I left TP in the llama panniers. Definitely include that in the trip.
I leave a lighter in my chest rig, and in my possibles pouch all the time. I knew I had extras In there but hadn’t went through and sorted them out. What are your thoughts on “ lighter A had heavy use on a trip, still has some fuel in it” ? Red light and mini lighter are where I ended up On my chest rig. Red lighter was used a lot on one trip but still had fuel in it. I tossed in a mini that I had because I thought I might need it. (Running a Tipi tent for 8 days).
The snack bag was just an extra I had from my backpack elk hunt and thought it was probably close to represent total weight.

The spoon has become a “always in my possibles bag” item. Pretty silly, but I have forgot my spoon too many times and I just decided to always pack one now lol.
Benchmade knife I was trying out to see how I liked it for processing game.
If I am going anywhere (to town, in the yard, to work) I pack my leatherman, so I almost don’t count that in the pack weight. It was in my pack because I bent the belt clip.

Anything you guys pack just for convenience or just in case?
