With the new regulations in New Mexico will the .45 CVA Paramount Pro be legal in the restricted ML season with open sites?

I believe the new NM muzzy regs are specific to scopes, banned. I think you can still shoot a 45 cal. Maybe someone else can chime in and confirm.

As it’s written, no inlines are legal on restricted muzzleloader deer hunts.
I’m aware of 1 unit like this in se NM and don’t doubt there are more. The rest are no scopes allowed. It’s a stupid rule. They claim that modern muzzleloaders with scopes are killing too many deer………so are rifles with scopes next? Compound bows on the radar to be banned in favor of long bows or recurves? What’s next on the hit list? I hear our g&f is infiltrated with antis now……

It isn‘t a matter of how many elk or deer are killed. I believe it is more about keeping up trophy bull potential for quality hunts in primitive weapons only units. As stated there are only a few restricted primitive muzzle hunts. Those hunts are to preserve a quality frontier experience, if one is so inclined.

I think its only 3 or 4 units that have the restricted hunts. The Paramount would not be legal on those.
